Position Description
We are one of the largest private practice otolaryngology groups in the country. We offer comprehensive general and subspecialty ENT medical and surgical care, Audiology, Allergy, Sleep and Facial Cosmetic services within the convenience of one medical group. We have seen tremendous growth over the last 12 years and currently have 101 physicians and growing with over 60 locations all over Florida. II. JOB SUMMARY: (highest level purpose of the role)
Under the direct supervision of the Physician, the APRN/PA-C provides medical care to patients, including histories, exams, lab tests, prescriptions, and referrals consistent with the philosophy of ENT and Allergy Associates of Florida, under the supervision of the lead physician and in accordance with standardized procedures within prescribed up to date guidelines and protocols.
Essential Functions, Key Tasks, & Responsibilities
· Provide medical care to patients, including histories, exams, lab tests, prescriptions, and referrals consistent with the philosophy of ENT and Allergy Associates of Florida, under the supervision of the lead physician and in accordance with standardized procedures within prescribed up to date guidelines and protocols.
· Perform accurate and timely documentation of histories, subjective findings, physical exams, plans, prescriptions and follow-up in Electronic Health Records System within 48 hours of the visit.
· Focus on patients with chronic, unstable or multi-system problems but does include acute simple illness as well as healthcare maintenance.
· Document patient chart entries in practice EMR following policies, and Medicaid and Medicare guidelines.
· Assure documentation and billing is in line with Medicare’s Incident to requirements.
· Assure that health education is provided with each patient encounter when applicable.
· Assist in the development of Standards of Care for the medical department.
· Provide patients with information concerning their evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. Engage patients in participation and decision involving their healthcare. Provide counseling for patients.
· Actively participate and engage in quality improvement for clinic efficiencies and improving patient quality of care.
· Timely coordination of care among internal and external ancillary providers and hospitals to provide high quality care between departments and facilities.
· Consult supervising physicians or colleagues when needed for complicated or if case is outside the scope of practice.
· Provide out-of-clinic patient services as determined by ENTAAF, including inpatient care.
· Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities, including regularly scheduled meetings, clinical audits and peer review.
· Advise the Medical Committee/ Facility Administration of any situations that may adversely impact the medical department's efficiency.
· Participate in the development of medical department policies and procedures in accordance with accreditation requirements and professional standards.
· Knowledge of principles and practices of evidenced based medicine and care.
· Knowledge of the etiology of communicable diseases.
· Knowledge of the rules, regulations and procedures of ENTAAF.
· Knowledge of interviewing and counseling techniques.
· Knowledge of public health and community resources.
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrative, fellow peers, and other work related outside agencies.

· May require travel based on practice needs.
SCOPE OF WORK: Expectations
· Be able to see between 16-22 patients per day, and complete accurate documentation within 48 hours (about 2 days) of visit into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
· To work as medical team member assisting other providers in completing their responsibilities as necessary, e.g., seeing patients, processing refills, and provider inbox.
· Display the highest level of professionalism, integrity and a strong work ethic, serving as a model for all clinic staff.
· Maintain requirements of licensure, DEA certification and board certification if hired as board certified.
· Fulfill and maintain requirements for credentialing, privilege internally and externally with payers and regulatory bodies.
· Provide comprehensive, high quality medical services to all patients without bias, regardless of age, sex, gender identification, income, national origin or language.
· Consider individuals’ cultural, psychological, social and environmental factors in creating treatment/care plans.
· Actively participate in meetings as assigned by direct supervisor.
· Participate in training of other medical personnel as requested.

· Performs all other duties as assigned.
· May be required to travel between offices as needed.
Required Qualifications: (Education and/or experience)
· Current APRN/PA-C License,
· Current CPR certification, ACLS, PALS certifications if required.
· Current DEA license.
· One (1) year of experience working within medical practice.
· Excellent communication and written skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
· Ability to work well under pressure analyze and evaluate individual patient needs, reach sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
· Must be detail oriented and be able to multi-task effectively.
· Demonstrate experience in the delivery of medical care.
· Must be sensitive to the diverse patient population.
· Demonstrate clear knowledge of ENTAAF’s structure, standards, procedures and protocols.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, and practice software. ☒ OSHA Categories Clinical: The position performs a task that does involve exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, and employment does require performing unplanned Category I procedures. All ENTAAF employees are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis B vaccination series.
