Join our team as a rotating shift, full-time, Pulmonary Clinic Nurse Practitioner in Tyler, TX.

Get to Know Your Team: 

  • UT Health East Texas is comprised of 9 hospitals, more than 90 clinics, nearly 7,000 employees and over 1,000 licensed inpatient beds. We provide healthcare services through our hospitals, clinics, Level 1 trauma facility, air emergency fleet and EMS service. 

Responsibilities

  1. Develops a medical plan of care for urgent/non-urgent patients within the scope of practice of the Nurse Practitioner utilizing written protocols to assure quality patient care.
  2. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of current trends in diagnosis, treatment, and management of specific disease entities through continuing education processes to provide leadership and resource to patients and caregivers.
  3. Maintains, reviews, and evaluates patient records, charts, and other pertinent department data and medical information by using advanced clinical knowledge and utilization protocols to implement peer review and participate in quality management activities.
  4. Participates in the development and motivation of staff through training and observation to assure high quality patient care and continuous quality improvement.
  5. Provides good customer service by utilizing good communication skills and technical knowledge to ensure UT Health and departmental objectives are maintained.
  6. Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.

Qualifications

  • MSN Degree
  • Current Texas Nurse Practitioner / APRN License in good standing
  • Basic personal computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Windows operating system; database and word processing skills required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Patient record documentation skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to think strategically and act tactically
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time
  • Ability to embrace the client relationship to guide decisions and actions
