Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric/Family Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to join our busy and collaborative pediatric otolaryngology outpatient practice. The APN will be responsible for delivering comprehensive healthcare to pediatric patients across a wide range of ages and conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings. This role includes clinical evaluation and treatment, phone triage, care coordination, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and physicians to optimize patient outcomes.

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric/Family Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to join our busy and collaborative pediatric otolaryngology outpatient practice. The APN will be responsible for delivering comprehensive healthcare to pediatric patients across a wide range of ages and conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings. This role includes clinical evaluation and treatment, phone triage, care coordination, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and physicians to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care (Outpatient & Inpatient):
- Conduct office visits, acute care visits, follow-up evaluations, and physical exams.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage common pediatric otolaryngology illnesses and conditions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests; prescribe appropriate medications and treatments.
- Provide hospital rounding and consultative services for admitted pediatric patients, as needed.
- Educate and mentor staff, students, and families as needed.
- Triage patient phone calls, assess symptoms, and provide clinical guidance.
- Care Coordination:
- Serve as liaison between families, specialists, and primary care providers.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and professional development.
- Coordinate appropriate follow-up care or emergency referrals as indicated.
- Manage follow-up for diagnostic tests, referrals, and complex care plans.
- Support care transitions from inpatient to outpatient settings.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Follow established clinical protocols, quality improvement initiatives, and safety guidelines.
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner in the state of New Jersey.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
- Two-three years of pediatric critical care experience preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
- EMR experience preferred.
- Full-time position with some variability in the hours depending on patient and practice needs.
- No weekend or call coverage
- Some inpatient rounding duties may be required.
- Flexibility in scheduling and responsibilities may be adjusted as needed at the discretion of the Chief of the Pediatric Division or the immediate supervisor to support clinic operations and patient care continuity.
