Position Description
The Health Services Clinical Supervisor will ensure health services provision to students with an emphasis on clinical care, wellness, health education and health promotion. The individual in this position has a considerable impact on the health and wellness of students. Therefore, this position requires a person with highly developed clinical, administrative and interpersonal skills and a commitment to delivering services in an empathetic and compassionate manner.
The Health Services Clinical Supervisor reports to the Director of the Counseling and Health Center and is responsible for implementing quality health services to students. The Nurse Practitioner works with the Director to develop policies that guide clinical practices.
The Health Services Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily health services operations and developing and implementing policies and procedures that insure the delivery of high-quality service to students. This position is required to demonstrate competence as a clinician with an understanding of issues facing college students.
The Health Services Clinical Supervisor abides by State of Illinois and Federal regulations. In collaboration with campus colleagues and off campus healthcare providers, the nurse practitioner is the lead contact for student healthcare issues on campus.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for modeling the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University’s Mission and Catholic and LaSallian higher education.
-Administer and coordinate student health-related services. Serve as a clinician in addition to administrative duties by providing medical consultation and treatment for various health concerns, including acute illness and minor injuries.
-Provide clinical and administrative supervision and support to Campus Nurse/R.N.-Maintain a collaborative relationship with campus partners. Consult on client care with collaborating physician and coordinate connection to care with other community-based providers when necessary and clinically indicated.-Oversee University immunization compliance process in collaboration with Campus Nurse, Registrar and Admissions Offices and contracted immunization provider.-Responsible for providing crisis support and consultation services to students, as determined by policies and procedures. Implement and oversee systems for assuring the follow up with students after emergency transport to hospital, or as appropriate.
-Oversee resource management for the health services, including medical and pharmaceutical supplies and equipment.
-Develop policies and procedures that enhance student health services.-Serve as public health liaison, collaborating as needed with the Will County Health Department/WCHD and state the Illinois Department of Public Health/IDPH.
-Partner with CONHS as needed for CEPT related planning and training support, vaccination outreach clinics, and other applicable support.-Provide appropriate information to regulatory agencies.-Maintain accurate and professional medical documentation & records.-Provide health promotion and alerts regarding public health information or updates.-Remain current on health issues and particularly as they relate to the college student population, and be involved in local and national professional associations.-Participate on campus committees as requested including the CEPT and Healthy Campus Team-Some flexibility in work schedule will be required as needed to best accommodate students and services demands.-Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
-R.N., Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois.-Clinical knowledge and working understanding of primary care and college health issues.-Ability to make independent nursing decisions in compliance with the Standards of Nursing Practice and the Illinois Nursing Practice Act.-Ability to use computer systems, especially Electronic Medical Records, word-processing and database management.-Strong leadership skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, work collaboratively, and effectively formulate and execute informed administrative and clinical decisions.-Demonstrated experience working with multicultural, LGBTQ, and other diverse populations in an empathetic and compassionate manner.-Represent the University and respond to student health related needs in a caring and professional manner.-A record of personal integrity and a commitment to Catholic higher education values. The Health Services Nurse Practitioner will provide health services to students with an emphasis on clinical care, wellness, health education and health promotion.

Preferred Qualifications:
Earned Master’s Degree in Nursing with an active APRN license in the State of Illinois and current Nurse Practitioner certification through ANCC or AANP. At least 2 years’ experience working in college or university health services or other related experience.
