• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel nurse practitioner contract)
• Location: San Francisco, CA 94158 – Heart of the Bay Area, ideal for California healthcare professionals
• Start Date: October 6, 2025
• End Date: April 6, 2026 (6-month contract, option to extend)
• Shift: Variable 12-hour shifts (07:00 – 19:00), including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Hours per Week: 36
• Minimum Shifts per Month: 4 x 12-hour shifts
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $5,040 – $5,400
• Practice Setting: Inpatient hospital, Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU, 18 beds)
• Support Staff: Multidisciplinary team with attending physicians, fellows, and nurse practitioners
• EMR: Epic

Pediatric Critical Care Nurse Practitioner Requirements

• Active California Nurse Practitioner license (required for all CA nursing jobs)
• Board Certification: CPNP-AC (Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Acute Care)
• DEA license with Schedule 2 authority (California)
• BLS and PALS certifications (AHA required)
• At least 1 year of recent experience in a pediatric cardiovascular critical care (PCICU) setting
• Experience with ECMO, CRRT, and cardiac support devices strongly preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends

Key Responsibilities – Pediatric Critical Care NP

• Deliver advanced clinical care to pediatric and neonatal patients in the PCICU, including those with complex cardiac conditions and post-transplant needs
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care
• Perform and assist with procedures such as IV placement, arterial lines, intubations, and central lines
• Manage patients on ECMO, ventilators, and advanced life support devices
• Document all care activities in Epic EMR
• Provide 50% night or weekend coverage as required
• Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and a commitment to high-quality pediatric critical care
