Position Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) plays a crucial role as a member of the Corridor Ketamine healthcare team. This position involves collaborating with all members of the direct patient care team to perform clinical duties and administer medications, including ketamine, while prioritizing exceptional customer and patient care.
The ARNP is expected to demonstrate effective communication, professionalism, self-development, and teamwork. Additionally, the ARNP should possess excellent clinical skills, problem-solving abilities, strong interpersonal skills, and effective leadership capabilities. Decision-making should adhere to Corridor Ketamine’s policies, protocols, and guidelines, while also being consistent with the scope of practice defined by the code of the State of Iowa.
DUTIES
The following are the primary responsibilities for this position. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- ARNP is the senior provider in the clinic at all times and is in charge of supervising the day-to-day operations of the clinic and treatments provided therein.
- Perform pre-treatment consultation and use knowledge and experience to analyze the patient's medical history as it pertains to their safety during ketamine therapy.
- Completes appropriate pre-treatment assessment and management of the patient.
- Supervises and administers both IV and intranasal ketamine as indicated by clinic protocols.
- Maintains electronic medical records during treatment, and ensures all aspects are completed to ensure accurate and timely billing of services at the time of service.
- Documentation in the medical record is thorough, complete, legible, and complies with established policies and procedures.
- Monitors patients and manages any adverse reactions that may occur during administration.
- Provides professional observation and resuscitative care, if needed.
- Works collaboratively with all members of the Corridor Ketamine direct patient care team, including CRNA, ARNP, RN, LPN, and MA to ensure the clinic's day-to-day functions run smoothly, and patients are cared for in a safe manner.
- Promoting excellent customer service by all staff members.
- Ensures patient satisfaction, including troubleshooting when there is a complaint and developing process improvements to prevent recurrences.
- Participates in staff meetings with administrative and clinical staff.
- Assist with duties related to patient scheduling, registration, financial counseling, medical records, billing and collection, data entry and processing, and cash posting (will be taught on the job).
- Complete all annual mandatory education training within the defined time frame.
- Participates in clinic performance improvement activities, as assigned.
