Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) – Level 4 NICU
Location: Manning Family Children’s, New Orleans, LA

The NICU at Manning Family Children’s is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our exceptional team. In this role, you will provide advanced nursing care to critically ill newborns, supporting the health, growth, and development of our youngest patients while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Our Level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is the highest designation in Louisiana, offering 36 critical beds and specialized care for infants facing prematurity, birth defects, or acquired conditions. We welcome experienced NNPs, as well as new graduates with NICU experience, to apply.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive assessments of neonates, including physical exams, medical history reviews, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
  • Treatment Planning and Implementation: Develop and execute individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Symptom Management: Monitor patient conditions and provide interventions for acute or chronic symptoms as needed.
  • Education and Support: Educate and support families regarding their infant’s condition, treatment options, and care plans.
  • Coordination of Care: Ensure continuity of care through effective collaboration with departments, managing patient transitions, and following up on progress.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with neonatologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality, evidence-based care.

Qualifications:

  • Current NNP certification and active Louisiana license
  • Experience in neonatal care preferred
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
