Family Nurse Practitioner Job Details

  • Location: Stowe, VT 05672 – Explore rewarding Vermont nurse practitioner jobs in a community known for scenic mountain views and vibrant outdoor activities.
  • Healthcare Setting: Residential and Detox Behavioral Health Facility
  • Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8-10 hour days (on-site, with some rotating weekends; typically 3 days on-site per week)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $3,700 - $4,380
  • Contract Duration: 16 weeks, with potential for extension
  • Start Date: August 25, 2025

Qualifications for Family Nurse Practitioner – Addiction Medicine

  • Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited college or university
  • Current and valid FNP-BC (Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certified) or PA-C certification
  • Active DEA License
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner (experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, medically supervised withdrawal management, or primary care preferred)
  • Knowledge of substance use disorders, recovery, and addiction treatment
  • Ability to maintain ethical and professional boundaries with clients and staff
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Must pass a background check and pre-employment health screening

Key Responsibilities – Nurse Practitioner, Behavioral Health & Addiction Medicine

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and provide therapeutic interventions, including medication management, in collaboration with the Assistant Medical Director and Medical Director
  • Deliver medical health services, patient education, counseling, and emotional support
  • Develop and implement patient management plans to ensure continuity of care
  • Order, review, interpret, and explain laboratory results to patients
  • Educate patients on medications, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services, including progress notes, medication consents, and discharge summaries
  • Provide primary medical care services as needed, following all applicable healthcare regulations and protocols
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver evidence-based, compassionate care
