Position Description

Summary:

We are seeking a board-certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support the care of patients with chronic kidney disease and endocrine conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This is a flexible role open to full-time or part-time candidates, offering a balanced mix of office-based visits, hospital rounding, and occasional dialysis care. The position is located in the Natrona Heights, PA area and offers strong physician support while allowing for independent clinical practice within scope.

Title: Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Nephrology & Endocrinology

Location: Natrona Heights, PA 15065

Schedule: Monday–Friday, rotating every 3rd weekend (aiming to reduce to every 4th)

Open to: Full-Time, Part-Time, or Weekend-Only Candidates

Pay Range: $110,000 – $130,000 annually, depending on experience and background

Overview & Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care Management: Provide comprehensive care for nephrology and endocrinology patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including assessments, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management.
  • Outpatient & Inpatient Coverage: Split time between office-based visits and hospital rounding; occasional dialysis rounding (3x/month) as part of ongoing patient care.
  • Collaborative Practice: Work closely with physicians while exercising independent clinical judgment in accordance with Pennsylvania scope of practice regulations.
  • Patient Education & Support: Educate patients on their conditions and care plans, ensuring adherence to treatments and improved long-term outcomes.
  • Clinical Documentation: Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) for accurate, timely documentation in compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
  • Care Coordination: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support continuity of care and timely communication across care settings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • National certification (NCCPA for PAs or AANPCB for NPs)
  • Active Pennsylvania license as a PA or NP
  • Current DEA license
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a medical office, hospital, or related healthcare setting
  • Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and documentation standards
