Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Job Details

• Location: Spokane, Washington (Zip: 99204) – Washington healthcare jobs
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens (Travel/Contract Nurse Practitioner)
• Healthcare Setting: Cardiothoracic Surgery, Level 1 Trauma Center
• Start Date: December 2025 (ASAP credentialing preferred)
• Assignment Duration: 2-3 weeks per assignment, with continuity preferred
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shift: 12-hour shifts (any), on-call rotation included
• Patient Encounters per Shift: 10-15
• Lodging: Pre-approval required for long-term housing (budget: $3600/month)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $4,830 - $5,170

Qualifications – Nurse Practitioner Requirements

• Active Nurse Practitioner license in Washington State (preferred for expedited credentialing)
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in surgical or cardiothoracic settings
• Vein harvesting experience required
• Experience and/or certification with Da Vinci Robotic Cardiac and Thoracic surgeries is a plus
• Board Certified or Board Eligible Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation and respond to nurse floor calls
• Fellowship training in a relevant specialty is a plus

Key Responsibilities – Cardiothoracic Surgery Nurse Practitioner

• Assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including vein harvesting
• Support and assist with Da Vinci Robotic Cardiac and Thoracic surgeries as needed
• Provide acute care management for post-operative and critically ill patients
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to clinical inquiries from nursing staff
• Ensure continuity of care by working 2-3 weeks back-to-back when possible
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care
