Position Description

Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Cardiovascular Critical Care

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our inpatient Cardiac Surgery service at a prestigious academic hospital in Philadelphia. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a high-growth and high-visibility cardiac surgery program, recognized for its pioneering medical achievements, including the establishment of one of the first coronary care units in the U.S.

Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $4,800-$5,220
  • Setting: Cardiovascular Critical Care Unit – Hospital Medicine
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Shift: 13 hours [day & nights, rotating ] | 40 hours per week
  • Duration: 26 Weeks


Job Requirements

  • Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of PA
  • Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification required for NPs
  • At least two years of Cardiac Critical Care experience
  • ACLS
  • DEA


Responsibilities

  • Patient Care: Provide comprehensive care for patients undergoing cardiac procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafting, valve replacement, and complex aortic surgeries.
  • Pre-Operative Management: Conduct pre-operative assessments and consultations to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Intensive Care: Work in the Heart and Vascular Intensive Care Unit (HVICU), managing acutely ill patients requiring advanced cardiac support, including VADs and ECMO.
  • Invasive Procedures: Perform essential invasive procedures including central lines, dialysis catheters, arterial lines, and bronchoscopy.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with intensivists and surgical physician groups within a multidisciplinary team to deliver world-class care.
