Job Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner - Occupational Health is responsible for providing medical care, treatment, and case management for employees. This includes conducting pre-employment exams, workplace health screenings, injury treatment, and regulatory compliance assessments. The NP will ensure workforce well-being, reduce lost time incidents, and partner with internal stakeholders and external providers to support timely return-to-work programs.Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct physical examinations and Respiratory Fit Testing (RFT) in compliance with DOT standards
  • Perform pre-employment physical exams for new hires
  • Provide acute and chronic care for occupational injuries and illnesses
  • Conduct drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, random, reasonable cause)
  • Manage the on-site health office, including walk-in treatment and employee care
  • Partner with leadership and external medical providers to support return-to-work programs
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
  • Collect and analyze health data for reporting to regulators (DOT, Hearing Conservation, OSHA)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve workplace health and safety practices
Required Qualifications:
  • BS in Nursing or equivalent qualifying degree
  • MSN Nurse Practitioner credential required
  • Board Certification - American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • Experience in occupational health or employee health settings
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle sensitive medical issues
