Job Description And Duties

Metropolitan State Hospital is located in the City of Norwalk.

The Department of State Hospita ls, Metropolitan State Hospital is currently accepting applications for Nurse Practitioner (Safety), Permanent/Full Time.

Working Title: Nurse Practitioner (Safety)

The Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric (Safety) will be directed by the Chief Psychiatrist and may receive clinical supervison from a Staff Psychiatrist. The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to:

• Provides clinical assessment and case management services to patients.
• Interacts with unit staff and assigned patients on a variety of daily psychiatric issues.
• Provides required documentation and reports.
• Participates in medical staff activities and serves on committees.
• Participates in departmental and hospital wide shakedowns.
• Minimum qualifications will be verified prior to being scheduled for an interview. Please provide proof of minimum qualifications with your application submission, which may include a copy of your unofficial college transcripts.
• If it is determined that an applicant does not meet the minimum qualifications, the applicant’s name may be removed from the eligibility list.
