Responsibilities
Ascension Wisconsin is looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Advanced Practice Clinician, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Hospitalist Department.
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Wisconsin to provide medical services to patients.
In collaboration with a physician, provide for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions.

Responsibilities
Ascension Wisconsin is looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible Advanced Practice Clinician, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Hospitalist Department.
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Wisconsin to provide medical services to patients.
In collaboration with a physician, provide for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions.
Position Highlights:
- 7days on/7 days off model
- 168, 10 hour shifts
- Days only
- Acute care and inpatient clinical rotation experience during training and/or experience working in an ICU setting would be ideal.
- Participate in different aspects of care including admissions, cross coverage, patient education, communication with patient's families and consultants, RRTs coverage.
- Obtain patient history and performs assessment. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures.
- Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions.
- Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
- Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
- Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
- Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
- Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
- Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
- Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
- Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
- 350-beds with employed primary, specialty and subspecialty care clinicians
- New 90 bed hospital tower with much of the campus undergoing recent renovations

- Strong 24/7 Hospitalist, Emergency Care and ICU services

Requirements
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing OR current home state license if considered multi-state/Compact State. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
- Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
- Master's degree of Nursing required.
