• Job Title: Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner – Acute Care (Newborn Call Coverage)
• Location: Marion, NC 28752 (Western North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Position Type: Locum tenens (contract/travel nurse practitioner)
• Setting: Inpatient, hospital-based newborn call coverage
• Start Date: October 1, 2025
• End Date: December 24, 2025
• Duration: 12 weeks
• Shift: 24-hour call shifts (7a–7a) on select dates: November 26–29
• Hours per Week: Approximately 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $3,600–$4,260 per week
• Practice EMR: Cerner

Nurse Practitioner Qualifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner license in North Carolina (required for North Carolina nurse practitioner jobs)
• Active North Carolina DEA registration
• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• PALS certification
• Experience performing circumcisions
• Minimum 1 year of acute care or newborn clinical experience
• Comfortable with inpatient newborn call and responding to deliveries

Key Responsibilities – Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

• Provide 24-hour newborn call coverage, including patient rounds, consults, and attendance at deliveries as requested by OB providers
• Respond promptly to facility calls for newborn care needs
• Perform newborn resuscitation and circumcisions as needed
• Collaborate with RN-staffed unit and multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care
• Document patient care and communicate effectively using Cerner EMR
