Assistant Professor, Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (FNP/AGPCNP), School of Nursing
Florida Gulf Coast University’s (FGCU) Marieb College of Health & Human Services (MCHHS) and the School of Nursing (SON) invite nominations, inquiries, and applications for the Assistant Professor, Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) position. The Assistant Professor will report directly to the Assistant Director of Nursing.
Due to the planned growth in the FGCU’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) major, the School of Nursing seeks an experienced and motivated Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) to join the DNP Nurse Practitioner faculty team and to teach in the Family Nurse Practitioner and Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner BSN- DNP Concentration and Post Master’s/Post DNP program.
The Doctor Nurse Practice (DNP) curriculum emphasizes innovative and evidence-based nursing practice to meet the demands of an increasingly complex health care system, improve the safety and quality of care delivery, and influence health care policy. DNP Nurse Practitioner faculty are committed to the education of future NPs who are competent and well qualified to deliver safe and high-quality care.

Teaching assignments may be on the main campus or at off-campus sites within our region.
The ideal candidate for this position will have an earned doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DNP) in nursing, education, or health related field from a regionally accredited institution/program or equivalent accreditation, current national certification as an FNP or AGPCNP, current unrestricted APRN licensure or eligibility for APRN licensure in the state of Florida, current certification in American Heart Association CPR for Healthcare Provider and clinical practice experience in the practice role of an AGPCNP.
