Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PHMNP) to provide comprehensive behavioral health care across ambulatory and residential settings.
The NP will perform psychiatric assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, prescribe medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity and quality of care.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Nursing; graduate of an accredited nursing school
Current, unencumbered NYS RN license and Psychiatric NP license; current DEA registration
Minimum 1-2 year experience as a practicing Psychiatric NP in hospital or psychiatric settings; ambulatory care preferred
ACLS certification; maintain required CEUs for advanced practice license
Medicare/Medicaid certified
Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and EMR documentation
Comfortable working in an interdisciplinary team and diverse community environment

Key Responsibilities

Conduct psychiatric assessments and develop treatment plans
Prescribe and monitor medications, lab tests, and consultative referrals
Collaborate with psychiatrists, medical providers, and other clinical staff
Initiate psychotherapeutic interventions and evaluate patient outcomes
Provide patient education and resources for mental health management
Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and staff education programs
Maintain compliance with standards of care, HIPAA, safety protocols, and patient rights
Support a team-oriented environment and foster positive relationships with patients and staff
