Job Description

GENERAL OVERVIEW

Provides care to women and their families throughout their lifespan.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Performs procedures within the scope of midwifery practice as defined by the American College of Nurse Midwives and outlined in the practice guidelines. (50%)
  • Performs assessments of physical, psychosocial and educational needs. (25%)
  • Provides diagnosis and order appropriate treatment and medication. (25%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Graduate of Nurse Midwife Program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME)
  • Current PA RN
  • Certification from American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
  • Current PA Midwifery license with prescriptive authority
  • Current PA driver's license
  • CPR – American Heart Association
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

  • 1-3 years’ midwifery experience
