  • Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, care plans, and follow-up needs.
  • Maintain meticulous and timely documentation in the EMR.
  • Participate in clinical quality initiatives and triage process optimization.

The ideal candidate has experience managing surgical follow-up and pain control in a collaborative outpatient environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate ongoing patient status to the supervising surgeon.
  • Coordinate imaging, labs, and follow-up appointments.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on post-op recovery, wound care, and medication safety.
  • Support clinical process improvements and quality measures in the spine program.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Nursing with NYS NP licensure and national certification.

  • Demonstrated competence in wound care and pain management.
  • Strong communication and clinical documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage patient care independently with oversight from attending physician.

3. Functional / Non-Spine Nurse Practitioner

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday

Position Summary

The Functional / Non-Spine NP provides advanced clinical care within a neurosurgery practice focused on movement disorders, epilepsy, and other functional neurological conditions. Working alongside three attending physicians and an RN, this NP manages outpatient visits, postoperative follow-ups, and medication adjustments while supporting care coordination across the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
