Established in 1968, Providence Community Health Centers (PCHC) is the largest primary health care provider in Providence, serving patients regardless of their ability to pay. PCHC offers a wide range of primary care services, including prenatal care, pediatrics, adolescent medicine, adult medicine, and elder care. PCHC also provides integrated behavioral health and specialty care services such as dental, optometry, podiatry, asthma-allergy and rheumatology.

Role Description

This is a Full-time on-site role for a Nurse Practitioner, located in Providence, RI. Full-time is 4 days in clinic and one day of remote admin time. (Part-time of 30 hours per week may be an option for some positions.) The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing primary care to patients, including conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses, prescribing medications, and developing treatment plans. The role also involves collaborating with other healthcare providers, educating patients and their families about health management, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner with a valid state license and certification
  • Experience in providing primary care and managing a panel of patients
  • Excellent diagnostic, clinical, and treatment skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for patient education and collaboration with healthcare teams
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an on-site clinical setting
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems (We use Epic!)
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) and a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing
  • Experience working with diverse populations and commitment to providing equitable care
