Now Hiring: PMHNP (ACTT Program) - Newport News, VA

Schedule: 4-5 hours per week

Compensation: Competitive, commensurate with experience and credentials

Pyramid Healthcare is expanding its Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACTT) services to the Newport News area! ACTT provides a “hospital without walls” model—bringing intensive behavioral health services directly into the community to support individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Our approach emphasizes evidence-based treatment, measurable outcomes, and collaboration with local and state partners.

As we launch this vital program, we are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to serve as the prescriber and key medical provider for the ACT team. This is a community-based position that allows you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those most in need.

Position Overview

The PMHNP provides direct psychiatric care, clinical oversight, and integrated treatment planning as part of a multidisciplinary ACT team.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver community-based psychiatric care in collaboration with ACTT leadership and team members
• Conduct field visits as directed by the ACTT Team Lead and/or Director
• Participate in treatment team meetings to support care coordination
• Serve as the lead medical liaison for ACTT communications with LME/CMOs
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Ensure all care meets clinical, regulatory, and organizational standards
• Complete required trainings and maintain compliance with all company and accreditation guidelines
• Uphold confidentiality and demonstrate sound clinical judgment
• Perform additional duties as assigned
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Active PMHNP license in the state of Virginia
• Qualified to provide psychiatric services
• ACTT experience or training preferred
• Valid CPR/BLS certification
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the ACTT service area
• Strong clinical documentation, communication, and collaboration skills
• Commitment to recovery-oriented, community-based care

This role involves travel within the Newport News service area to meet with clients in their homes and communities.
