Department: NPD Generalist – Emergency Department and Procedural Areas

Shift/Status: Full Time, Day Shift, 40 hours per week 

Schedule: Day Shift, Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm

Are you a Registered Nurse (RN) who is passionate about supporting nurses as they grow in their practice? Baylor Scott & White Pflugerville Medical Center is seeking an experienced Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Generalist to join our dynamic team supporting the Emergency Department and Procedural Areas - including Day Surgery, PACU, Operating Room, Endoscopy, and Cath Lab/IR Department.

As an NPD Generalist – Emergency Department and Procedural Areas, you’ll play a vital role in bridging the gap between learning and bedside practice. You’ll help ensure nurses remain current, confident, and competent - directly impacting the quality of patient care and outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Onboarding: Guide and support new nurses through orientation to the Emergency Department and Procedural areas (Operating Room Department and Cath Lab/IR Department).
  • Education & Training: Deliver ongoing education to staff, reinforcing clinical excellence and evidence-based practice.
  • Competency Management: Assess and validate staff competencies to ensure alignment with standards of care.
  • Professional Development: Mentor nurses in their professional growth, certifications, and career advancement and much more!

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a motivated Registered Nurse RN who brings experience and clinical insight from two or more of the following areas:

  • Emergency Department (ED)
  • Perioperative Services (Day Surgery, PACU, Operating Room, Endoscopy)
  • Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) and Interventional Radiology (IR) Department

Ideal candidates are those who have experience in the above mentioned specialties who also enjoy teaching, coaching, and helping others succeed in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

About the Facility

Baylor Scott & White - Pflugerville is a full-service hospital, providing a wide network of medical expertise and resources. This facility has achieved Magnet recognition for its nursing professionalism, teamwork, and superiority in patient care.

Baylor Scott & White - Pflugerville features a 25-bed Main Nursing Unit (doubling as part of the expansion) is a blended unit with three levels of acuity and operates from a multidisciplinary approach in providing the highest standards of nursing care to patients and families. The facility also offers 24/7 emergency services (a 16-bed Emergency Department), Surgical Services Department (offering adult and pediatric surgeries) and a brand new Catheterization Lab/Interventional Radiology Department.

Baylor Scott & White – Pflugerville is currently under construction for an expansion and is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. The improvements include the brand new Catheterization Lab/Interventional Radiology Department for minimally invasive procedures, increased imaging options including nuclear medicine, added emergency and trauma services and improvements to operating room capabilities. As Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - Pflugerville is a new and growing medical center, the health system is continuously working to create new services to provide to members of this community.

QUALIFICATIONS

- EDUCATION - Bachelor's

- EXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience

- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
       Registered Nurse (RN)

       Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
