Requirements

Job Duties

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Jersey (or Compact State License) required

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required

Clinical research certifications (e.g., GCP, HSP, ACRP, CCRP) a plus but not required

Skills

Strong patient assessment and clinical documentation skills

Bilingual (English/Spanish) required to support patient recruitment and engagement

Ability to adhere to study protocols, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with patients, families, and staff

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable learning CTMS and EDC

Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment

Position Qualifications

Minimum 1-2 years of recent clinical nursing experience (hospital, outpatient, or specialty care preferred

Prior clinical research experience strongly preferred but not required (training will be provided)

Experience With EMR And Clinical Documentation Systems Required

Experience with IV therapy, injections, and medication administration preferred

Experience working with vulnerable populations

Patient Care & Safety

Provide nursing care and support for research participants throughout their study involvement

Conduct nursing assessments including but not limited to, ECGs, symptom checks, and standardized procedures

Administer investigational product (oral, injections, or infusion as permitted by training/scope) and perform patient assessments during clinic visits to determine presence of side effects

Monitor, document and report adverse events, side effects, and concomitant medications

Prepare participants for medical examinations and support investigators in conducting and documenting required exams

Recruitment & Engagement

Participate in recruiting and screening potential participants through chart reviews, provider collaboration, and patient outreach

Interviewing and documenting medical history to determine eligibility requirements

Educate patients and caregivers about study participation, risks, benefits, and requirements

Assist with informed consent discussions by answering questions and ensuring comprehension

Compliance & Collaboration

Ensure study conduct is aligned with protocols, GCP, FDA, IRB, and BNBMC requirements

Collaborate with the PI, Sub-Is, coordinators, and pharmacy to maintain research quality, patient safety, and protocol adherence

Maintain accurate, timely, and complete source documentation and study logs

Participate in departmental quality improvement, audits, monitoring visits, and inspections

Attend sponsor or CRO training meetings as required

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Associate Degree in Nursing (AND) with relevant experience considered

Salary Commensurate With Experience Within Posted Range

$85,000-$135,000/ year
