GENERAL OVERVIEW

This position will work both inpatient and outpatient setting.

Job Description
GENERAL OVERVIEW
Identifies and manages psychiatric problems for patients within the CRNP scope of practice.
This position will work both inpatient and outpatient setting.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provides appropriate patient care to include recording patient psychiatric history, developing therapeutic care plan, ordering diagnostic tests, interpreting test results, discharge planning and providing accurate medical record documentation for patients in a psychiatric setting. (60%)
 - Communicates plan of care and involves physician in clinical decision making of any issues that are outside CRNP knowledge base or scope of practice. (20%)
 - Communicates and coordinates patient care with patient, family, community health services and inter-disciplinary team. (10%)
 - Demonstrates professional commitment through voluntary attendance at continuing education programs, independent reading and other professional activities. (10%)
 - Performs other duties as assigned or required.
 
Minimum
- Master's degree in Nursing and graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with specialization in area of practice; or four to ten years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 - State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)
 - Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (obtained within 2 years)
 - Prescriptive Authority within 60 days of hire. Incumbents in role as of November 1, 2022 have until November 1, 2023 to obtain
 - CPR – American Heart Association
 - Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
 - Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
 - Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
 
- Doctorate degree Certified Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)
 - Experience with psychiatric patients
