Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Job Details – Illinois Healthcare

• Location: Galesburg, IL 61401 – Experience Midwest living in a welcoming community with vibrant local culture, friendly neighborhoods, and access to beautiful parks and outdoor recreation.
• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel contract)
• Start Date: February 16, 2026
• End Date: June 7, 2026
• Contract Duration: Approximately 16 weeks
• Shifts: 5 x 24-hour shifts every 2 weeks (additional shifts available)
• Shift Structure: 24-hour call coverage with 8 hours on-site clinic; off-site call after clinic hours (must be able to return if called in)
• Weekly Hours: Approx. 36 hours
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $5,460 - $5,850

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Qualifications

• Active Illinois Nurse Practitioner (NP) license
• Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certification
• Minimum 1 year of independent clinical experience as a Neonatal NP
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Healthcare Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive neonatal care for newborns in Level I and Level II nurseries
• Perform newborn assessments and attend deliveries
• Manage respiratory needs and coordinate clinical care with nursing and medical staff
• Work independently while collaborating closely with the perinatal healthcare team
• Participate in 24-hour call coverage, including on-site clinic hours and off-site call availability
