Job Overview

The Compensation and Pension Examiner is responsible for conducting Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) and Separation Health Assessments (SHAs) for Veterans and transitioning military members applying for service-connected disability benefits. This is a non-treatment, investigative role focused on medical evaluation and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed medical history reviews and physical examinations.
• Complete and submit DBQs or SHAs through a secure, cloud-based EHR.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and labs as needed.
• Provide clear, evidence-based medical opinions for Veterans’ disability claims.
• Ensure timely submission of all charts and reports (within 24 hours).

Qualifications

• Licensed healthcare provider with full practice authority in assigned state.
• Strong knowledge of medical documentation and diagnostic evaluation.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Experience with Veterans’ healthcare or disability assessments preferred.
