Position Description
Job Summary
Homeland has partnered with a leading healthcare system known for delivering compassionate, high-quality care across multiple hospitals and outpatient facilities to hire an experienced Advanced Oncology Nurse Practitioner (ONP). The Advanced Oncology Nurse Practitioner (ONP) is an experienced Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) who will provide comprehensive oncology and hematology care to patients in an outpatient setting, collaborating closely with supervising physicians and the multidisciplinary care team.
This role involves delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of complex cancer-related conditions. The ideal candidate demonstrates advanced clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care. As a key representative of the clinic, the Advanced Oncology Nurse Practitioner (ONP) also plays an important role in fostering strong relationships within the community and with referring partners to ensure continuity and excellence in care.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up for oncology and hematology patients
- Triage and manage patient calls in coordination with physicians, hospitals, home health, and hospice agencies
- Evaluate and manage oncologic emergencies, chemotherapy side effects, and other acute or chronic cancer-related conditions
- Perform comprehensive histories and physical exams; develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Educate patients and families on chemotherapy, treatment plans, and side-effect management
- Coordinate care with nurse navigators, dietitians, social workers, and other team members to ensure comprehensive, holistic care
- Participate in inpatient rounds and provide first-call coverage as needed
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing and support staff; assist with education and training
- Respond to infusion-related reactions or emergencies within the infusion center
- Support chemotherapy preparation, administration oversight, and office-based medical procedures as needed
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians on protocol development, policy revisions, and quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in the company's committees related to oncology care, including the Commission on Cancer and Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee
- Maintain compliance with all safety, regulatory, and infection control standards
- Complete required annual education and participate in ongoing professional development
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must meet educational standards required for Nurse Practitioner licensure and certification
- Minimum of three (3) years of oncology experience as a Nurse Practitioner required
- Current certification as an Adult, Family, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner through ANCC or AANP
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Tennessee (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) certification required
Additional Information
Schedule: Full-time day shift, Monday–Friday, working four 10-hour days

This position offers a competitive salary of $100,000–$129,000/year, based on experience, with relocation assistance if applicable.
