As a Nurse Practitioner with the North Central Health District, you will be part of an innovative and mission-driven team of public health professionals working to protect and improve the lives of Georgia’s residents. Your impact will extend far beyond the clinic as you help shape healthier communities across our state.

Job Responsibilities

Under general supervision, a Nurse Practitioner performs advanced nursing functions and delivers specialized healthcare services, including conducting comprehensive physicals, providing treatment and counseling, and—in some cases—prescribing medications under a written nurse protocol agreement with a delegating physician. This exciting traveling Nurse Practitioner position is based out of Macon, GA, and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across multiple county health departments within our district. Candidates should be willing to travel to various locations throughout our 13-county district as needed. Employees in this role are eligible to receive mileage compensation for work-related travel.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and/or other education requirements approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certification in the specialty area(s) approved by Georgia Board of Nursing.

Must have at least two (2) years of nursing experience, hold a Georgia Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license, a Georgia APRN license, current certification in the specialty area, and a valid CPR certification; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level PH Advanced Practice RN 1 (HCP200) or position equivalent.
