Position Description

Nurse Practitioner (NP) | Veterans C&P Examiner | Full Benefits | Killeen, TX

Location: 2301 South Clear Creek Suite 230, Killeen, TX 76549 Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (8:00 AM–4:30 PM) Compensation: Competitive Pay | W2 with Exceptional Benefits

The Mission: Supporting Our Veterans' Benefits

Are you an experienced Nurse Practitioner ready to transition from clinical treatment to a stable, highly impactful investigative role? Join our dedicated team performing Compensation and Pension (C&P) Examinations for Veterans and separating service members.

This is a vital, non-treatment position where your expertise is used to review complex medical histories, conduct thorough physical evaluations, and provide medical opinions to support VA disability claims.

Why This Role Offers Unmatched Balance

This role is 100% focused on quality assessment and documentation, not acute patient care:

  • Fixed Schedule: Enjoy a consistent Monday–Friday, daytime schedule.
  • W2 Benefits Package: Receive full benefits FREE OF COST for yourself and all dependents, including: Health, Vision, Dental, 401K, Paid Holidays, PTO (15 days), and Continued Education Reimbursement.
  • Non-Treatment Focus: Primarily involves charting, review, and investigation. Exams are one-time assessments (averaging 1.5–3 hours per veteran).

Key Responsibilities

As a C&P Examiner, you will perform Disability Questionnaires (DBQs) or Separation Health Assessments (SHAs):

  • Thorough Evaluation: Obtain in-depth health histories and perform comprehensive and focused physical examinations on claimed conditions.
  • Records Review: Conduct a complete review of medical records via a cloud-based EHR system.
  • Medical Opinion: Order necessary diagnostics/ancillary services and provide medical opinion decisions based on your physical evaluations.
  • Documentation: Submit all findings and documentation via an online portal, ensuring charts are submitted within 24 hours.

Qualifications

  • Licensure: Active Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Experience: Crucially, NPs in Texas must have more than 3,600 hours of qualifying NP practice experience (due to state restrictions).
  • Skills: Excellent diagnostic and charting skills; comfort with detailed medical record review.
  • Commitment: Dedicated to a full-time, fixed-location schedule.

If you are a highly experienced NP looking for a rewarding, investigative role with superior work-life balance in Killeen, TX, apply today!
