Position Overview:

NorTek Medical Staffing is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join a well-established team in Portland, OR. This full-time position will provide clinical management for high-risk neonates and infants in a Level III NICU setting.

In this role, you will manage complex neonatal cases, attend deliveries, perform neonatal procedures, and collaborate closely with medical teams to provide the highest level of family-centered care. Ideal candidates will have neonatal experience or be willing to obtain an OR license and take on a pivotal role in the neonatal team.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical management of high-risk neonates and infants in the NICU.

Attend deliveries, provide neonatal resuscitation, and assist with immediate neonatal care.

Perform neonatal procedures including intubation, chest tube placement, and line insertion.

Collaborate with neonatal physicians, nursing teams, and support staff to ensure comprehensive care.

Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and diagnostic results.

Provide patient and family education regarding neonatal care, discharge planning, and follow-up care.

Unit-based support including rounding, patient assessments, and ensuring care continuity.

Work with a high-volume patient load in a busy NICU environment.

Qualifications:

Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Physician Assistant (PA).

Completion of a 12-month Neonatal PA fellowship or residency program.

Previous experience in Neonatal ICU (NICU) or high-risk neonatal care preferred.

Willingness to obtain OR license if not already held.

Experience in high-volume deliveries and working in Level III NICUs.

BLS and NRP certifications required.

Ability to work 12-hour or 24-hour shifts, including days and nights.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with multidisciplinary teams.

Work Schedule:

Shifts: 12-hour or 24-hour shifts, including day shifts (7 AM – 7 PM) and night shifts (7 AM – 7 AM).

Patient volumes:

3,000 deliveries per year at the main hospital.

4,500 deliveries per year at the other facility.

Patient load per day:

~10 patients per day at one location.

~22 patients per day at another location.
