The Yale PNP student participates in a part-time, unpaid internship in pediatric primary care at the Ny Foundling Bronx Medical Clinic location. Under direct supervision, the intern will conduct primary care examinations, sick exams, provide treatment recommendations, ongoing medication management, and anticipatory guidance to patients and families.

Responsibilities
The Yale PNP student participates in a part-time, unpaid internship in pediatric primary care through the NY Foundling Bronx Medical Clinic location. Under direct supervision the intern will have the following responsibilities.
Responsibility
- Perform comprehensive pediatric well child and sick examinations.
- Provide ongoing medication management recommendation under supervision
- Appropriately order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Provide anticipatory guidance to patients and families about acute and chronic health conditions
- Provide anticipatory guidance to patients and families during routine well child examinations and educate about expected developmental milestones.
- Engage and collaborate with all relevant key participants within each system, including treatment teams, care planners, to ensure their buy-in and alignment throughout treatment.
- Participate in all required agency, model and stakeholder trainings, individual and group coaching and staff meetings.
- Maintain clear, concise and timely documentation of treatment efforts in progress notes that demonstrate compliance with agency, state, and federal regulatory bodies
- Receive ongoing direct supervision from senior NP and other senior clinicians
- current YSN PNP student
- Current NYS RN license
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in pediatric primary care medicine through continuous literature review, engaging in agency education programming, and through utilization of the time allotted for continuing education
- Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, Email, and Data entry systems (e.g. Connections, Electronic Health Record).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Familiarity with the organizational and procedural guidelines (i.e., agency mission, culture, administrative structure) of relevant collateral agencies (i.e., juvenile or family court, probate court, social services agencies).
- An understanding and commitment to complying with the New York State Central Register of Abuse and Neglect protocol (requiring staff to comply with promulgated requirements to report any suspected abuse, maltreatment or neglect of any child).
