Position Description
We are seeking a full-time or part-time highly skilled independent contractor Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who has a current active license in Washington State and/or Colorado, to join our expanding outpatient behavioral health practice by seeing our patients remotely through telehealth. The ideal candidate is dedicated to delivering patient-centered, evidence-based psychiatric care, has full-Authority in these states with a minimum of 5+ years of experience and is comfortable working independently within a supportive clinical environment.
In this role, the NP will provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, and therapeutic support to a diverse population of adults and/or children. The NP will work collaboratively with our medical director and administrative team to ensure high-quality, timely, and ethical care. Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including patient history, mental status examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic modalities aligned with current clinical research standards.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications, including complex regimens involving psychotropics and stimulants, ensuring safe administration and monitoring for adverse effects.
- Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to coordinate overall patient care.
- Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to mental health services across diverse populations and geographic locations.
- Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions, medication use, lifestyle modifications, and coping strategies to foster engagement and adherence.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Charm Health, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research projects related to behavioral health interventions, and ongoing professional development activities.
Experience
- Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Proven ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, mental status exams, and physiological evaluations.
- Experience working within EMR/EHR systems like Charm Health for accurate documentation.
- Prior clinical experience in outpatient clinics, inpatient psychiatric units, or hospital settings—preferably within teaching hospitals or specialized behavioral health facilities.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology principles along with experience managing complex medication regimens involving CPT coding for billing purposes.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms to deliver remote psychiatric services effectively.
- Background working with diverse populations including geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.

Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
- Active DEA License.
- 5+ Years practicing as a PMHNP.
- Full-Authority to practice in Colorado and/or Washington State.
