Qualifications – Nurse Practitioner (Acute Care, Surgical Oncology)

• Active Nurse Practitioner license in Minnesota (MN) – required for immediate start
• National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in acute care, surgical oncology, or related clinical specialty
• Proven experience in both inpatient and outpatient care settings
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Fingerprinting required prior to credentialing and privileges (typically completed within 48 hours)

Primary Responsibilities – Surgical Oncology Nurse Practitioner

• Deliver comprehensive clinical care to surgical oncology patients in inpatient and outpatient settings
• Coordinate pre- and post-surgical care with surgeons and multidisciplinary care teams
• Assist in the operating room, including patient preparation, intraoperative support, and wound closure
• Perform procedures such as wound care, drain management, and drain removal
• Conduct patient assessments, establish diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans
• Order and interpret medical diagnostics in collaboration with attending physicians
• Prescribe medications, therapies, and medical equipment as needed
• Educate patients and families on chronic illness management, surgical recovery, and wellness care
• Serve as a resource and consultant to clinical staff and the multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Promote effective communication and contribute to program development within the care team
