• Position Type: Locum tenens Nurse Practitioner (Travel contract)
• Practice Setting: Outpatient primary care clinic – acute care
• Location: Oakland, CA 94605 (Bay Area healthcare jobs)
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $3610–$3870
• Contract Length: 13 weeks, with options to extend
• Start Date: March 2, 2026
• End Date: June 1, 2026
• Schedule: 4 days/week, 8:30am – 5:00pm (8-hour day shifts)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Patient Volume: Approximately 20 adult patients per day (primarily return visits)
• Support Staff: 2 Registered Nurses (RNs), 1 Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), and a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA) per provider
• EMR: Epic electronic medical records
• Call Requirements: None

Nurse Practitioner Qualifications

• Active California Nurse Practitioner license (required for California nursing jobs)
• DEA registration with Schedule II authority in California
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2-3 years of recent outpatient primary care experience
• At least 1 year of experience with Epic EMR
• Experience working with vulnerable populations or safety net communities strongly preferred
• Spanish-speaking skills highly preferred
• Ability to complete credentialing within 90-120 days

Healthcare Responsibilities

• Provide acute and chronic disease management for adult patients (18+)
• Deliver urgent primary care and clinical support for sickness and immediate needs
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including RNs, LVNs, and MAs
• Utilize Epic EMR for accurate documentation and patient management
• Contribute to a supportive clinic environment focused on patient-centered care
• Engage with a diverse patient population, addressing health disparities in Oakland healthcare
