Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides examinations for diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, such as: diabetes, high blood pressure, infections and injuries.
- Performs therapeutic procedures such as administering injections, suturing, and managing wounds/infections
- Prescribing medications and other treatments
- Ordering, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays
- Refers patients to specialists if necessary and analyzes medical reports/records
- Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with patients/caregivers and other appropriate healthcare staff
- Provides appropriate patient counseling, education and medical advice
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient records
- Managing patients' overall care within scope of practice guidelines, regulations and standards
- Updates patient chart and uploads to Electronic Health Record as dictated by agency policy
- Meets or exceeds average minimum productivity standard of 2400 billable encounters annually
- Maintains and annually reviews Collaborating Practice Agreement with supervising physician as mandated by state regulations
- Participates in After Hours Call by telephone per departmental policy
- Assessed by medical and clinical peers through quarterly record audits and one on one training and observation at least year, or more frequently if needed
- Maintains continuing medical education as required by credentialing agency
- Participation in special collaboratives/projects
- Provides periodic education/counseling at community events
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management
- Master's Degree (MA) (MS) or Doctoral Degree (Ph. D.) (DNP) or equivalent from accredited college/university
- Certificates, licenses and registrations required:
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Licensure by South Carolina State Board of Nursing
- Board Certification by a national organization (ANCC or AANP)
- South Carolina Controlled Substance registration
- Federal DEA Controlled Substance registration
- CPR certification
- Computer skills required:
- Electronic Medical/Health Record; ADP Payroll Systems; Purchasing/Inventory Software; Microsoft Office
