Position Description

A busy family medicine practice with focus on adult and geriatric medicine in Maryville, IL is seeking dedicated Doctor of Nursing Practice or Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team. The Doctor of Nursing Practice / Nurse Practitioner is an essential and interactive position that includes working directly with patients and working with the diagnosis and treatment of care.

Job responsibilities in this position will primarily perform comprehensive health assessments including obtaining complete health histories, accurate physical examinations and administering treatment plans in collaboration with the practicing Physician. They  will also be responsible for initiating treatment for the patient with commonly occurring health problems, which lie within the nurse specialist's scope of practice.

Other specific responsibilities will also include:

  • Order/perform selected diagnostic test and procedures as indicated by the patient's condition
  • Prescribes approved medications as outlined by the state regulatory acts
  • Instructing individuals and/or families about health or defined health problems, as well as communicating the plan of care, while maintaining privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and professional environment while performing test, treatments, and procedures
  • Use Electronic Health Records(EHR).

In order to be considered for this position, candidates are required to have a ANP, FNP, or DNP with advanced skills in physical assessment. They must also have a valid license to practice and certification to practice in IL.

Job Requirements

  • Possess advanced certifications as required by clinical practice area/client-
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a caring/professional bedside manner-
  • Prescriptive authority preferred; DEA number.
  • Current CPR/BCLS Certification.
