Responsibilities

Florida Health Care Plans, a large multi-specialty staff model HMO, is seeking an Advanced Practice Practitioner This position is three 12-hour shifts / 36 hours weekly, with a rotating 4-hour shift on Saturday. Our Extended Hours Care Centers are open 7 am-7pm, Monday – Friday, and 8am-12pm on Saturday. The Advanced Practice Practitioner shall provide necessary and appropriate urgent care services, within the scope of their training and experience. Responsibilities and expectations to include the following:

• Provides care to patients across all age groups
• Ability to treat Urgent Care presentations: (Chest Pain, Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, etc.)
• Foreign body removal
• Laceration repair, Suturing skills
• Abscess I & D
• Diagnose, treat, & splint fractures
• DOT Certification
• Professional examination experience (i.e. Firefighter’s physical, etc.) preferred
• Epic EMR experience a plus
• Worker’s Comp Experience preferred
  
  

Qualifications

• Advanced Practitioner / Physician Assistant Florida licensure
• Minimum 3 years’ post licensing experience, working independently, in family medicine, urgent care clinics or a combination
• Graduate of an accredited program, APRN, NP, or PA program
• DEA license
