A nationally recognized children’s hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants to join a high-acuity, 32-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). This full-time role supports critically ill medical, surgical, trauma, ECMO, and congenital cardiac patients in the Commonwealth’s only free-standing children’s hospital.

This position is ideal for clinicians with a passion for pediatric critical care, complex cardiac patients, and collaborative, academic-style practice.

What You’ll Do

• Provide direct care for critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU

• Manage post-operative congenital cardiac and CVICU-level patients

• Participate in trauma, ECMO, and complex medical cases

• Collaborate with intensivists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams

• Rotate through days, nights, and weekends

What You Need

• Active Virginia NP or PA license

• CPNP-AC or Acute Care certification required

• BLS & PALS required

• 1–3 years experience in PICU, critical care, or acute pediatric settings

• Interest or experience in cardiac intensive care strongly preferred
