- Location: San Francisco, CA 94158 – Premier California healthcare jobs in the vibrant Bay Area, close to waterfronts, cultural attractions, and world-class amenities.
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $5040 - $5400
- Contract Length: 6 months, with option to extend
- Start Date: February 23, 2026
- Shifts: Variable 12-hour shifts (07:00 – 19:00), including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Hours per Week: 36
- Minimum Coverage: At least 4 x 12-hour shifts per month, with 50% night or weekend coverage required
- Practice Setting: Inpatient, hospital-based Pediatric Cardiac ICU
Nurse Practitioner Job Requirements
- Active California Nurse Practitioner license (NP MUST have CA license)
- Board Certification: CPNP-AC (Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Acute Care)
- DEA license with California Schedule 2 authority
- BLS and PALS certifications (AHA required)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU) managing pediatric cardiovascular critical care
- Experience with ECMO, CRRT, and heart failure patient management preferred
- Strong communication skills, flexibility, and ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team environment
- COVID-19 vaccination and booster required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Pediatric Cardiac ICU Nurse Practitioner Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced pediatric and neonatal cardiovascular critical care in a high-acuity PCICU setting
- Manage pre- and post-operative cardiac surgical patients, including those on ECMO and with heart failure
- Perform and assist with clinical procedures: IVs, arterial lines, intubations, and central lines
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including attendings, fellows, and other nurse practitioners
- Utilize Epic EMR for documentation and care coordination
- Participate in variable scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and credentialing requirements
