Two part-time locum Nurse Practitioner (FNP) opportunities are available within the Wisconsin correctional system, offering a consistent weekday schedule with no call, no weekends, and no holidays. This role focuses on delivering primary care services to adult patients in a structured, team-based correctional healthcare environment.

Providers manage routine and chronic care needs, averaging 10–12 patients per day, with strong extension potential beyond the initial 26-week contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive primary care in a correctional setting

• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions

• Prescribe medications and manage treatment plans

• Document encounters accurately in EMR

• Collaborate with facility medical staff

• Maintain compliance with state and DOC regulations

Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin NP license with prescriptive authority

• Board Certified NP (FNP preferred)

• 2+ years primary care experience (correctional a plus)

• DEA & BLS required

• Willing to complete required DOC onboarding

Schedule & Compensation

• $75–$80 per hour

• Up to 24–26 hours per week

• Three 8-hour weekday shifts (8:00 AM–4:30 PM)

• 26-week contract with extension potential
