Locum tenens Nurse Practitioner (NP) opportunity in Wisconsin providing primary care and chronic disease management in a structured correctional healthcare setting. This weekday, day-shift role supports an adult male population—often older with multiple comorbidities—ideal for NPs who enjoy internal medicine/family practice-style care.
This is an on-site assignment at a correctional facility in Wisconsin, offering a consistent weekday schedule and a focused clinical environment.
Job Details (Locum Tenens NP – Wisconsin)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2210–$2620
- Position Type: Locum tenens (local)
- Location: On-site at a correctional facility in Wisconsin — enjoy a welcoming Wisconsin community with access to outdoor recreation and a relaxed pace outside of work.
- Start Date: 3/1/26
- End Date: 8/29/26
- Contract Length: 26 weeks
- Schedule: 3 shifts/week (Monday–Friday; any three days are acceptable, but must be consistent)
- Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
- Hours: Up to 24 hours/week
- Daily Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (includes a 30-minute lunch)
- Healthcare Setting: Corrections / correctional facility
- Patient Population: Adult male; older patients with multiple comorbidities
Job Requirements (Nurse Practitioner)
- Active Wisconsin Nurse Practitioner (NP) license (required)
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Nurse Practitioner/provider (no new graduates)
- Experience in Internal Medicine and/or Family Practice strongly preferred
- Corrections experience (correctional healthcare) is ideal but not required
- Long-term care experience is a plus
Responsibilities (Correctional Healthcare NP)
- Provide comprehensive primary care services including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
- Manage chronic conditions and multiple comorbidities in an adult population
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and labs; adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Prescribe medications and therapies within scope and in accordance with facility protocols
- Document care clearly and timely in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with facility staff to support continuity of care and appropriate follow-up
