As a result of the passage of House Bill 1166 last year, all insurance companies who sell individual health policies in Georgia to also offer “Child-Only” individual health coverage beginning January 1, 2013. There is a limited open enrollment period ending January 31, 2013. Parents and guardians with uninsured children can apply for this coverage with guaranteed issue during this open enrollment period, even if the child has a pre-existing condition.
