Please share the following with your nurse practitioner students and new graduate nurse practitioner colleagues - Please note that this year we have extended the scholarship to new graduate nurse practitioners within their first year of practice and with a concentration in gerontology.

The Maryland Chapter of the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association is again offering a $500 scholarship to be used toward attendance at the national GAPNA conference in Phoenix this September. For students interested in the care of older adults, joining this organization will open many opportunities for them to meet others with similar goals and to stay up to date on changes and advances in gerontological nursing. Membership also includes a subscription to the Geriatric Nursing Journal. The student fee to join the national chapter is only $60 (regular membership is $100) and that is automatic membership to the local chapter. As a local chapter, we try to meet quarterly, usually for a dinner/educational meeting. We also engage in community activities like the local Alzheimer's Walk.
