The House Subcommittee of the Professional Registration and Licensing Committee held a hearing on Tuesday, February 28th.  The subcommittee has been asked to discuss APRN Scope of Practice issues and prepare a report.  The Chair of the Subcommittee, Rep. Chrissy Sommer, did allow testimony about APRN practice.  We had excellent testimony provided by both APRNs and Coalition Partners.  The physician groups and Rep. Dr. Frederick also provided testimony in opposition to any changes in APRN Scope of Practice.

As we understand now, the Subcommittee will meet again on Tuesday, March 7th at 2:00 p.m. to prepare a report for the Professional Registration and Licensing Committee.

Action Needed:  Send your written comments/testimony to Representative Chrissy Sommer and cc Representative Tila Hubrecht (emails provided below).

Simply tell your story on how the regulations are preventing you to care for Missourians.  Provide examples of how the barriers have delayed care or affected your ability to practice.

It is critically important that you send your comments!  There are a couple of subcommittee members who were very vocal in their opposition to changes in APRN scope of practice and we must ensure the subcommittee has accurate information to include in their report.
