CALL FOR NOMINATIONS 2017 for NPAA ELECTION of OFFICERS

The NPAA Nominations Committee has issued the Call for Nominations for the 2017 election for officers. Deadline for applications to be received by NPAA is Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 5 pm.

NPAA members in good standing by September 11, 2017 may submit their information for consideration as a candidate in the 2017 election or may nominate a colleague. Please refer to sections in the bylaws (attached) for additional information regarding eligibility and other requirements. 

If you know someone you would like to nominate, please make sure you have their permission before you submit the nomination. Self-nominations are encouraged as well. For any nomination please provide:

  • Candidate name along best email and phone number contact information
  • Candidate’s CV or Resume
  • A 250 word or less statement of why you are seeking to serve in a leadership position
  • Candidates are encouraged to submit photos as part of their application. Include a “professional” type photo head shot, though not necessarily made by a professional photographer. Photos must be submitted electronically in jpeg format with the nomination application; Color photos are preferred.            

All nominations will be reviewed by members of the NPAA Nominations Committee, who will vet nominees and develop a slate (ballot) to reflect expertise and diversity. At least one but no more than two candidates will be slated per position.

Terms of office is two years, unless otherwise noted. Not all offices are to be elected each year, please refer to the Bylaws for specific information regarding offices terms/years of election.

All elected officers begin their term at the close of the 2017 Annual Conference held in Birmingham, October 27-28, 2017.

Applications that are incomplete or contain excessive typographical or grammatical errors will not be corrected or edited and may be eliminated from consideration.

All incumbent office holders eligible to seek re‐election must submit forms and complete the nomination application process.  

Positions Scheduled for Election in 2017 are:

  • President – 2 year term. Estimated time commitment: 10-15 hours per month depending on the month
  • President-Elect2 year term. Estimated time commitment: 10-15 hours per month depending on the month
  • VP for Community Affairs: - 3 year term. Estimated time commitment: 5-10 hours per month depending on the month
  • VP for Membership: - 2 year term. Estimated time commitment: 5-10 hours per month depending on the month
  • VP for Policy: - 2 year term. Estimated time commitment: miniumu of 5 hours per month depending on the month, during the legislative session expected to be in Montgomery a at least 1 day a week
  • Secretary: - 2 year term. Estimated time commitment: 2-3 hours per month depending on the month
  • Member-at-Large: - 2 year term. Estimated time committee: 2-3 hours per month depending on the month
  • Student Members-at-Large Representatives: - (2) representative for 1 year term each; Must be in year two of MSN or DNP program
