Effective 12/1/2020 is a new CPT code related to COVID-19. Some insurers are reimbursing this code. Additional information is available in an AMA Press Release. Suggested prose to accompany this CPT code is: "Additional supplies, materials, and clinical staff time were required and used to support safer in-person patient interactions with healthcare professionals during this office visit. This includes screening prior to the visit and upon arrival, donning and removing personal protective equipment, and increased sanitation measures necessary to prevent the spread of communicable disease, due to the respiratory-transmitted infectious disease of COVID-19, during this declared public health emergency."
