The Board of Nursing met yesterday and formally extended the emergency amendments to Rule 217.24. This emergency rule allows APRNs to treat chronic pain patients with scheduled drugs through telemedicine if the patient is an established chronic pain patient and they are seeking a refill of an existing prescription.
