HB 495
Good afternoon NPs!
I hope you are all surviving this rainy and wet day!
I am sending this message to ask (more like beg) each of you to email and call all members of the House Health & Welfare and ask them to support HB 495. This bill, if passed, would remove the collaborative practice agreement for NPs.
We are hearing that MANY physicians are calling in opposition, and members say they are hearing from VERY few NPs. We NEED all hands on deck.
They legislators need to hear from us and in greater numbers than physicians.
How to send an email:
1. Go to http://www.accesstocarela.org/take-action-2/ and click on "Provider" or "Patient"
2. Click on "Legislative Alert-Act Now" and scroll down to fill in your name and email then click "send". (YES, it is that easy!!!!)
3. To Call, click on the phone icon on the top of page to retrieve phone numbers.
Please ask your patients, family, friends, anyone who has recieved excellent care from an NP to follow the same steps (they click on "patient" rather than "provider").
It takes less than 5 minutes to email all committee members using the steps as described above and about another 20 minutes to call and leave messages for them. (Yes, leave a message... Most of them are NOT answering the phone as they are in session, so if you prefer to leave a message, call now)
We MUST make our voices heard if we are going to be successful this session! Let's all jump in to improve access to care for Louisiana!
