The week marked the beginning of the 2022 Florida Legislative Session Committee Weeks. The opening ceremony on the House floor officially made Republican Representative Paul Renner the Speaker Designate for the Florida House for 2023-24. Both the House and Senate held committee meetings, but all were filled with presentations by agencies giving the Legislature updates on what has happened since the 2021 session ended in May.
