Meeting Preliminaries

• President’s greeting and call to order
• Approval of April’s Business Meeting Minutes  [Motion to approve made by Stephanie Gerhart; seconded by Monica Philip]
• Job announcements Dr. Schulman looking for pediatric psychiatric nurse practitioner, TTUHSC looking for family clinic faculty, Synder Clinic looking for NP.
• Introduction of officers, recognition of NP students and guest

New Business

• Nominations for next NP highlight; email nominees to SPNPA
• Nursing week; years of services recognized in the group
• Discussed increasing scholarship amount for NP students; excludes DNP students.
• Vote taken and approved to increase scholarships to $1000 for 2 students [Motion to approve made by Stephanie Gerhart; seconded by Monica Philip]
• Discussed advertising for NP month in November; may have T-shirts, Covenant/UMC to sponsor, billboards, movie theaters.
• Discussed house bills; HB 1942 passed

Old Business

• Membership forms and fees- $30 for student members, $60 for members All done electronically on SPNPA ENP website. **Please register or renew membership to continue to receive full access to all membership benefits.  
• Monthly SPNPA meetings date and times will be posted 2 weeks prior to meeting on Facebook and ENP website.
• Meeting minutes will be posted on ENP for review. [Motion to approve made by Monica Philip; seconded by Stephanie Gerhart; approved unanimously]
• Committees need to meet and report at each business meeting.
• SPNPA is accepting nominations for next Nurse Practitioner highlight.
• There is a UMC Conference on Friday August 22nd; open to public
